More about accreditation

You will learn

Core data analyst toolkit

Start by mastering the essential skills used for data analysis. First, understand how to approach data analysis in a structured way, how to collect and interpret data, how to identify relevant patterns, and how to do basic visualization of data. Then, master the use of spreadsheets and SQL, which are the core tools when starting to work with data.

Communicating analysis results

Turn your data insights into compelling stories that inform and persuade your audience. You will choose between Looker Studio and Tableau as a BI tool to create interactive dashboards that showcase your data analysis. You will also learn how to deliver engaging presentations that highlight your key findings, tailor your message to different audiences, use body language to enhance your communication, and select the best visualizations for your data.

Main analysis types

In this module, we will look at the main analysis types as they relate to 4 different fields – customer behavior, e-commerce, customer value, and modeling. This will cover multiple analysis types, such as Retention, Cohorts, RFM, CLV, Funnel, A/B Testing, Linear & Logistic Regression models, and more. These techniques will allow your analysis and insights to be robust and data driven.

Analyzing business problems

After getting to know the tools and techniques that Data Analysts use, you will practice them in different scenarios, relating to specific popular Data Analyst specializations. These specializations are Products Analysis, Marketing Analysis and Payments/Monetization Analysis. This will not only deepen your skills but will also help to understand the landscape of Data Analyst professions better, which are usually heavily linked to Data Science as well.

Data analytics capstone project

A large scale project that allows a demonstration of all the skills learned so far.

Python: basics to advanced

Ensure that your level of knowledge in Python is enough for the next set of modules. The module assumes no prior experience in Python and starts from the very basics of this programming language, but moves to advanced topics afterwards. Ensure a deep understanding by doing multiple practical projects and getting personal 1–1 feedback on your code.

Data wrangling with Python

Learn how to process and visualize data with NumPy, Pandas and other data visualization libraries. Strengthen your linear algebra, Python programming and scientific computing skills in the process.

Data analysis & statistics

Upgrade your knowledge of statistics and leverage your new skills to create and test experimental hypotheses and statistical modeling. Use SQL to work with data in relational databases.

Machine learning

Learn how to use various types of supervised and unsupervised machine learning models, such as KNNs, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines, gradient boosted trees, XGBoost, LightGBM, K-Means clustering and more.

Deep learning

Learn how to build and use various neural network architectures with PyTorch. Apply these neural networks to solve tabular data, computer vision and natural language processing problems.

Flexible graduation

Dedicating at least 15 hours of focused learning per week you can graduate in 24 months. Of course there is no limits on how fast you can graduate. Learn how to plan your graduation date ↗

FAQ

What kind of diploma will I get once I graduate?

90 ECTS accredited Master of Science in Data Science.

Why did Turing College partner with Woolf University?

Getting a higher education accreditation required years of bureaucratic work and millions of dollars. Woolf changed that by creating a service for online schools like ours to become a member college of their global collegiate and offer internationally-recognized degrees. Woolf handles all the compliance and regulation, and quality assurance parts, while college members focus on meeting imposed quality standards and providing world-class education.

In the higher education industry, it’s a very game-changer. Why? Most university systems have lobbied local governments to create legislation, not letting new incumbents like us get the license. Higher education is the industry's $2 trillion market, so naturally, universities aren’t willing to bring competition to it.

What’s Turing College and Woolf's relationship?

Woolf is a global collegiate higher education institution. Collegiate universities are not new: the University of Oxford, University of California are all collegiate universities. Woolf is the first global, collegiate higher education institution allowing qualified education organizations to seek membership as new colleges. Turing College is one of twenty one global member colleges.

Woolf helps Turing College to meet and maintain regulatory and institutional standards by handling everything from program compliance to degree issuance. It creates a comprehensive record of compliance for all aspects of quality assurance.

What's the difference between collegiate and traditional university

As a collegiate higher education institution, Woolf provides its member colleges with a set of digital tools where high quality education organizations can build advanced, innovative degrees with full accreditation recognition.

What regulatory frameworks Turing College's master’s degree is compliant with?

Graduates get a diploma issued by Malta Further & Higher Education Authority. Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) has licensed Woolf as a Higher Education Institution with licence number 2019-015. Earning a degree from Woolf is the same as earning a degree from any other European university in– they all use ECTS accreditation. As a European program with ECTS credit, Woolf degrees have Lisbon Convention recognition in the 50 countries of the EHEA, and Woolf degrees have official recognition in Canada and Woolf is deemed equivalent to a full university (regionally accredited) in the United States.

Woolf is additionally recognized for purposes of immigration, residency, and citizenship in Canada; and in the United States, Woolf is considered equivalent to a US regionally accredited university.

The ECTS accreditation system is the largest and most sophisticated in the world, and for this reason, ECTS degrees enjoy global recognition.

A partial list of validation checks can be found here: https://legal.woolf.university/accreditation

If you need a validation check for immigrating to specific country, please email registrar@woolf.university

  • How many successful master’s degree diplomas has Woolf already issued?

Close to a hundred in 2023. Thousands of students are on pace to graduate in 2024.

What are ECTS credits?

The European Credit Transfer System was set up to harmonize the standards of diverse European countries, but evolved to become a standard unit of credit, “ECTS credits.” Members of the European Higher Education Area (50 countries) use ECTS credits and members and have a treaty obligation under the Lisbon Convention to recognize the credits of other members.

If I finish just a part of the program, can I transfer these credits to another uni?

No, you need to finish a full degree to attain a 90 ECTS credits diploma.

What is our Master’s Degree credibility if you want to pursue Ph.D. afterward?

A master’s degree from Turing College  is a fully-accredited master’s degree and under the Lisbon Convention should be recognized by all universities in the 50 countries of the European Higher Education Area and

A master’s degree is typically a necessary but not sufficient condition for being admitted to a PhD program. Some programs may have requirements beyond a taught master’s degree, including a demonstration of research or publication abilities. Our team is here to help you to build a strong profile.

In the first instance, you should contact the faculty member or institution directly to enquire about the program – PhD students typically work with a single faculty member for 3-7 years, and it typically a faculty member will want to hear from you directly before making an admission’s decision.

What if a learning model doesn't suit me?

No problem, for career program you have a 2 weeks demo period, while for a master degree 4 weeks. You can easily withdraw your studies if you don’t think that Turing College model suits you.

How can my employer pay for my studies?

We have many students getting their tuition covered by their employers as this program helps you to become a better professional. We recommend to contact 1st to contact your direct manager by asking to consider an option to cover your tuition fee.
